Area Rugs Designed for Comfort & Style

At Chariho Furniture, we believe a rug’s beauty goes beyond its design. The true essence of a high-quality rug lies in its construction, what gives it depth, texture, and lasting appeal. When choosing the perfect rug, factors like weave style, fiber type, and pile height all play a critical role. Different rug construction techniques are suited to different styles and uses, and not all rugs are woven the same way. Whether you’re looking for a hand-knotted wool rug or a machine-woven synthetic blend, Chariho Furniture offers a wide selection of expertly crafted rugs to suit any space.

Different constructions:
  • Hand-Knotted Rugs: individual, often uneven knots are visible on the back of each rug, mirroring the pattern visible on the front of the rug.
  • Handwoven Rugs: have a low-to medium pile and can have a canvas backing added to them
  • Hand-Tufted Rugs: have a canvas backing glued on to hold the knots in place and usually have a cut or cut-and-loop  pile.
  • Flat-Weave Rugs: woven construction, flat and do not have a pile. lightweight
  • Power Loomed Rugs: typically made of synthetic fibers like polyester, polypropylene, or recycled PET yarns, soft and luxurious, easy care

All rugs use different fibers to weave a rug; some examples are wool, silk, cotton, hemp, jute, linen, polyester, polypropylene, sisal, viscose, art silk, rayon, seagrass, recycled PET and more.
